I wrote this a while ago, felt like putting it up here for comments and whatnot, so tell me how you like it, and what you would change and stuff, thanks.
My Forever Friend
We grew up together, inseparable friends Had sleep-overs, parties, and fun to no end, But time came between us, and we grew apart, She took up flirting, I took up the arts
She runs with a new crowd, the popular ones, But I see in her eyes that she has no fun We still talk together, sometimes in the hall, And every so often she gives me a call
She comes to my parties and I go to hers but days turn to months, innumerable blurs Without further contact with my so-called friend But it is all right, she’s there in the end
I’m her back-up friend, and I know it’s true, But I’m always there for her when she’s feeling blue We still are good friends, but it’s just not the way That it used to be years ago when we would play
I can see for myself that she has no real ‘pals’ In that gang where she hangs out with all of the gals And I tell her I’m here, and always will be Ready for days when she will most need me
Our friendship’s been tested but we have been true how could we not be, with all we've been through She grew up beside me, just ‘round the bend And she’ll always be there, my forever friend.

That is a really nice poem, and I wouldn't change anything about it. Except, if you wrote that for one of your friends, then I'd suggest giving a copy of it to her, unless you already have. And if you have, what did she say??
